Seasonal Trekking


  • Season Trekking 2023 will be conducted from 16th January to 15th February 2023 as per Govt.
  • Those who have Internet connection and Net Card facility can register and book tickets online by visiting the forest department's website at forest.kerala.gov.in or serviceonline.gov.in/trekking
  • From year 2014, Online Booking is thorough https://www.forest.kerala.gov.in/ or https://serviceonline.gov.in/trekking/
  • Through online registration only maximum 75 people will be allowed to enter in a day.
  • A maximum of 25 people per day will be allowed through online including cancellations that may occur in online registration.
  • Online booking facility will be available on 5th January 2023 from 11.00 am onwards.
  • Those coming to book admission tickets at Akshay Kendras should also bring photo ID copies of themselves and their team members.
  • The identity card number of each trekking participant needs to be included in the online application.
  • The ticket price per person is Rs 1,800. A maximum of 5 names can be included in a ticket.
  • A payment gateway will be charged in addition to the ticket price from those who come to book tickets at Akshay Kendras. The service charge is Rs.50/- for one to five person ticket
  • This trek is through very rugged forest areas so only those with good fitness should participate in the trek.
  • Children below 14 years of age cannot apply for trekking.
  • There is no special treatment for women.
  • Registration within 7 days of booking for 18 years and above
  • Medical Fitness Certificate issued by Dr. Medical Practitioner
  • Must reach Forest Picket Station at Bonakkad between 7 am and 9 am on the day of trekking along with copy of ticket printout and original photo ID card.
  • Everyone involved in the ticket must sign the declaration along with the ticket printout.
  • Each group of 10 members will be provided with the services of a guide appointed by the Eco Development Committee.
  • Participants in trekking must strictly follow the covid norms.
  • As Agasthyarkutam is of great ecological importance and is a UNESCO heritage site, carrying of religious items, plastic, alcohol and other intoxicants during trekking is strictly prohibited.
  • Smoking and cooking are not allowed inside the forest. Violation of prohibited items will be subject to penalties including fines.
  • Trekking is allowed only on production of medical fitness certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner within 7 days of booking
  • Permission letter issued by the parent for the age group of 14 years to 18 years. This information must be included in the registration slip.

  • Booking opens before the trekkking date , the dates would be published somewhere around 10th January in all major newspapers.
  • Once Entry Pass is issued no partial/full cancellation is allowed. Amount once paid will not be refunded
  • Be quick to apply on the first day itself, as permits run out in 15 minutes.
  • Ladies too are allowed from 2019 onwards
  • Trekkers are required to carry RT-PCR negative report not older than 72 hrs from the time of sample collection or a COVID vaccination Final Certificate (after 2 doses of vaccination).
  • Trekkers must display their original Photo ID and Insurance copy

Service Specific Terms and Conditions


  • Entry Pass is non-transferrable and no modification/ alteration is allowed.
  • Once Entry Pass is issued no partial/full cancellation is allowed.
  • Amount once paid will not be refunded once ticket/entry pass is issued.
  • The Original photo ID (mentioned in the ticket at the time of booking) will be verified by concerned official before commencing the trekking on each day. Entry will be allowed only after successful verification.
  • If ticket is not issued and the amount is deducted from the bank account, there shall be no responsibility of Kerala Forest Department/ServicePlus.
  • All unsuccessful transactions shall be refunded by the bank in 14 working days from the date of payment.
  • While availing the online ticket booking facility, Kerala Forest Department or National Informatics Centre will not be responsible or will not take any liability of whatsoever nature in respect of any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly to you due to the declining of transaction based on any of the following reasons:
  • Lack of authorization
  • Exceeding the preset limit mutually agreed by you and your bank
  • Any payment related issues arising while doing the transaction
  • Internet connectivity issues
  • Client system/browser related issues
  • Any other reason not listed above.
  • Consumption of Alcohol, Smoking and cooking is strictly prohibited in the forest area.
  • The participants must abide by the rules and regulations of Kerala Forest and Wild Life Department and all instructions issued by the Forest staff and guides.
  • Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department can initiate action against the trekkers, in case of violation of any instructions during trekking programme.
  • The participants must be fully aware of the risk involved in the trekking programme including attack from wild animals and health problems which may develop during trekking.

Other Charges


  • Pordige (Kanji) food is charged separately.
  • Tea is charged at rupees 10.
  • Digital camera is charged at INR 100.
